Just to be completely up front about what is really happening , many of the rules were made to reign in those that were causing the problems the forums were experiencing.
Several here commented that the site seemed pleasant and refreshing during the # 1 offenders time in detention . A notable Occurrence. Perhaps a good lesson.
Here in lies the rub NB… As you can see below Admin DOESN’T review every post that gets flagged when there are enough flags “accrued”… Hence, with you and others starting a flagging campaign to oust others it circumvented Admin…
As you can see EF wants to be a “janitor”, as he stated above, which is discouraged by the site guidelines as it sets the wrong tone… It is an abuse of systematic authority/responsibility that both you, him, and others have breached by ganging up and having a flagging campaign against other members… Enough flags accrued and bypassed Admin for review plain and simple…
Moderators have special authority; they are responsible for this forum. But so are you. With your help, moderators can be community facilitators, not just janitors or police.
When you see bad behavior, don’t reply. Replying encourages bad behavior by acknowledging it, consumes your energy, and wastes everyone’s time. Just flag it. If enough flags accrue, action will be taken, either automatically or by moderator intervention.

There certainly is a need for a janitor to dispose of trash around here. Sorry if you don’t believe that my flags are not monitored, but the fact is that they are. There is no conspiracy to flag you or any other member. Sometimes the member receiving flags is his own worst enemy

Double standards for who gets the flags… I typically counterpunch when insulted…. Me and others get flagged, but the others don’t because it’s a good ole boy system…. Guess you can say CFC is the “swamp” now…
When you’re the reason the punches start getting thrown in the first place, counter punching is hardly a defense.

I have my politics and my religion, which i strongly believe in. We’ll all get along better if strangers on a fishing website don’t discuss it. Simple as that.
It makes the website look juvenile to sponsors. I can’t believe the admin is actually considering leaving it. It has to be costing them money, even if they don’t realize it.

I’m with you on this Mixed. But it seems to me that if cleaning up the political forum by simply getting rid of 1 or 2 would bring peace then that’s the right thing to do. The lesson learned during the period of detention is that the forum was much happier and civil. Even Bob became a bit more civil without cover of a partner
Also. RBF does not counterpunch. He instigates. If anyone posts anything that he does not favor he revolts , ridicules and insults. That’s not exactly counterpunching. I believe that his previous sign “I Disobey Community standards” was no joke but a boast.
