What I Just Ate

Was the pompano from the outer banks?

Yes, heres a couple of the better ones

Good to see the fish market has them in stock…

Easy on them there middle fingers! Shrimp or did you find some sand fleas?

Peeled shrimp. What sand fleas I can find are all on the really small side

When I was a little fellow you used to get some big ones on the Beaches around Edisto. I tried for some a few years ago and got one. and it was small like you said.

On a side note, I saw a video of a dude collecting a bunch of them and frying them whole. Said they were delicious? Ever heard of that?

No, but anything fried has to be pretty good.

The wind has been at or near gale force for almost two days now, the water is churned up, spin drift blowing the tops off four foot shore break.

8 oz pyramid sinkers will hold when chunked beyond the breakers but even cut bait washes out/off within a minute or two.

Maybe it’ll lay down today, if not we will just have to eat steak again i suppose

Good times

Mmm, pomps.

Cold snap flushed me some super fresh dinner! Phone camera didn’t pick up the orange well, thing looked like a Vols flag up in the tree.

Y’all look up today

Now I want a slab of grilled pompano topped with fried soft shell sand fleas and chicken mushroom

Used to have some Japanese folks live in my neighborhood. At the end of the street was a good place for fiddler crabs. I seen them down there several times and noticed fiddler crab populations of dwindling. I asked him one day what they do with all them fiddler crabs. They eat them.

I’m a scrapple connoisseur the troubles down in here is you can’t get the best

closest I’ve found is this

Rapa taste like fried grits mixed with pork rinds

I made my 3rd or 4th batch last night for breakfast today.

It was a hit, but in another few batches of tweaking my will be ready for the county fair blue ribbon snatch.

a fellow can dream…

That Greensboro brand is the best !!I l lived near their plant in Hornytown NC

when Y’all talk about scrapple, isn’t that basically what you put in the Pudding pot? Everything that I don’t like to eat like the rooter and tooter?

Where you find that at Bay? I’m good, just curious.

I always used the meat boiled off the hogsheads but nowadays I use Boston butt for everything. It’s just easier. I bet you got a good hash recipe.
