Who Was In the 38LX Fountain at the GTH on 4/25

The 27 Pursuit SUUUCCCKKKKKSSSSS. I’ve fished on a buddies for 4 summers now. Glad I won’t have to this year.

I still don’t get your point about Carolina Classics, Albemarles etc. etc. Are you just saying they’re better riding boats? Cuz that’s kind of what I’ve been saying for a while now.

Those are true fishing boats.

You have a few types of boaters. Sailers, Fishermen, Yachters, Cruisers, Speed Boaters and many many more.

Now thhink about motorcycles. Which type of boater do you think is more likely to buy a clasiic Harley Davidson and which type is more likely to buy a “sexy” Kawasaki Ninja?

I’d go with the Harley…Ronnie’s gonna get ‘da Ninja bra’.

Harley man myself.

And YES the Carolina Classics are probably the best fishing boats ever built for their size. Yeah I know they have a 35 now…but man that 28 is sweet and will take alot more trhan any other boat the same size.

Why does everyday seem to start with WTF

Wow…as a FNG I am impressed, +2500 reads with over a hundred postings to this thread. Do y’all normally get into these kinds of debates/b%$ch slappings on similar matters? It has been at the very least funny, with a little bit of fact thrown in for good measure. Any boat that is running and carrying happy fishermen is a dream ride, relatively speaking. See ya on the water…

Safe seas and tight lines!

David

Crazyhorse, I can see that you’re a pretty level-headed guy with a good point of view. Just an honest, well-rounded, opinion, rather than a passionate blood crusade for your favorite boat. Thanks for adding some maturity to the discussion. No offense to the guys joking around, but, dude, this thread has had like 100 posts now (wow). Doesn’t the “my dog can beat up your dog” stuff does wear out sooner or later (though sometimes funny at first)? I guess not.

I’m not really tired of the DISCUSSION so much–if we can keep it somewhat mellow. Comic relief is OK by me, within reason. But we need to keep some serious info in there too, here and there. Plus, I’m really sick right now (physically), and feel like c-rap.

Also, I just felt a little guilty, because I started this discussion, and then it went funny for a while, and then people started truly insulting each other with venom (seemingly at times) and sounding like they might hit each other with a broken bottle or something (the true definition of the term being tossed around). I t looks like this thread is going to set some kind of reply numbers record, and I don’t wan’t to be remembered as the guy who started the thread that started a 100-year gang fight between cats and Fountains.

Crazy Horse, I think your last remarks are right on target, with one partial exception. Midgie’s partially right about the up-on-top thing, but you’re right (CrazyH) about the slicing the waves thing to a point. I’ve always noticed that they slice waves like a knife, track straght and true, and stay level left-right very well. The 31 and 34 both love a following sea (keeping the tabs up), but the 34 does a much better job on a head sea than the 31, which doesn’t like it so much. The 34 has been described to me by riders as “eating” the head sea. The steps though, Midgie, are for getting more air pocket under the hull to reduce the friction, and hence add speed (per the guys I know that design these boats). The lifting strakes are for the bow rise action and plan

124 replies!? 2700 reads!? Dude, we have too much time on our hands.

Oh–it looks like someone who posted on the last page (5) may have strung some words together without a space or carriage return, and needs to edit their post and put a space or return on each line to get make the word wrapping to work right. Seriously, are ya’ll seeing the words extending way off to the right like me, or is it just getting really late?

Warren, I think it might be your string of !!!'s. See if that’s it.

Gotcha thanks for that. I have partaked in many a ride one the Fountains. Still I say the Carolina Classic is better, but I’m not going to use that against ya.

Just so everyone knows I’m from NC, but currently in GA working at Moody AFB. Also i spent many a day and year in Charleston. My father is from there and I lived there a few years. Most of my offshore experiences come from NC. Though I’ve had some in San Diego and WA state and the Indian Ocean and all places we stopped or just threw out lines. Until about two years ago we had a house at Folly…for over 50 years!!! We lived in it, grandparents lived in it…just can’t have a folly house unless it cost as much as the property. Sorry for this had to get it out.

Also I do know Reggi personally, and I don’t think he would like what is being said about his boats. He does do alot more than check gold chains and shave back hair. With his background…he does like to test boats, yes he loves the go fast boats…but he has always tested the CC in the ocean, just to see how they handle. Any rough rides when they’r not warrented he takes back to the ones building the boats and has it fixed.

I’ve met Reggie, too, CrazyHorse; and I also have some pretty good friends who I respect a lot at Fountain. I also know quite a few Fountain dealers that are super nice guys. They have all been very good to me, and I would hate for any of them to be offended by some of the stuff that’s been said here by others (altough I have been the target and receipient of most of it, and it’s mostly just joking and prodding in good fun–I think). But I’m sure they’re big enough not to sweat the school boy talk. Tom K, Benny, Chuck, Lynn J., Tim M., Joe, etc., if any of you are reading this, please note that I’m one of the guys taking up for Fountain, not heckling you.

Not sure what direction this is heading right now…something about me blaspheming someone who saved Lee’s life(???). Did anybody catch that? I’ll need further explanation on that one.

My whole point is personality type.

Remember my mullet hair cut comment? I’ll bet everyone on here knows what I’m talking about except the 5 or 6 guys that own Fountains…Kind of like everybody knows how funny the Mullet hair cut is except the guys that still sport 'em…I just don’t think they realize people are pointing and laughing.

anyway, got to catch a flight. Its been reel. I hope everyone has a good safe weekend…and for godsake, don’t put the gold chains on your children until they’re old enought to decide for themselves.

One last question: Do you get a goodie basket when you buy a Fountain? Complete w/ hair gel…fake tanning lotion…silk boxers…assorted tank-tops…1991 Oakley wrap around sunglasses (or Blue blockers…Capt’s choice)…and other various “necessities”?

I didn’t get anything like that when I picked up our GB. I feel kind of robbed.

Ketchemup…tight lines…following seas…bent rods…fair winds…working VHFs…yummy Yammies…tracking baits…dissapearing fluoro…and the everything else BO!

Peace negoes!..Seacrest Out!

I was referring to God. From one of your comment’s on page 4: “Thats why you feel every gd* bump and why you splash water up”. Like I said, I’m not judging you,I’m just asking you to please keep His name in a positive light or otherwise maybe not use it at all, M&M. Thanks. Have a safe trip.

Now, guys, I really would like to hear more about those albecore in CA. A freind of mine that used to fish with me in college used to tell me a story or two, but that was a long time ago.

What is wrong with you morans? This started out as a conversation about how Strickland has agood deal on Fountain insurance, and six or seven pages later, we are debating world religions. Hey midgiemullet, I hope your plane lands safely… wink wink…

Wondering why some of the forum nazi’s hasn’t posted something like “nice fishing dicussion”…you know kinda like “nice fishing report…Good job” yet??

Don’t mean to throw the subject off…Game on!
