Bluefin,
Don’t remember the names of the boats. Went out of Point Loma. It was over 8-10 years ago. Though it is fun fishin. Thanks for the invite, but I’m burning up all my time of in a week to be fishin in NC.
Gotcha, There are those Albacore near you…but a long, ways out. A really long ways out. Better have a tanker follow you for the refueling.

Tell me more about the grillage.
Lee, sorry about the GD. I was using it as an adjective so I don’t feel too bad.
What hair gel can you recommend for running WOT? I always have problems with the salt spray.
Bluefin-can you spell rivegailledos islands? I sure can’t and was trying to do a google search on those long range trips. Are they still closed to Anmerican boat?
Hey midgie its the Revillagigedo Islands and yes their still closed to Amercian boats. Even though their closed, our boats are still loading up on the yellowfin at the banks off Cabo (Finger Bank, Thetis Bank, Cleofas Bank, etc.) and down south to Clipperton Island, something like 1500 miles south of San Diego. U have any ?'s on anything else just ask. Later.

Clayton Kirby fished with us in Cabo a couple of days as an observer in the World Billfish Series. He swears by fountain and he is a king mackeral guru. Never been on one but hear they are good boats. Likeed your new boat. Saw you up at the Hole today.
Just when I thought I’d let this thread die “Au-Top-Sea” has to post something like “King mackerel guru” …shheeeesshh. This is gonna go on forever.
Thanks for the compliment ATS. It’s nothing like the top-notch ride you’re on, but it’s a very fun, fishable boat (and affordable for us). BTW, very nice work on Sunday–both captain and mate! You must have worked your B-hind off.

As a single gal, I have always made it a strict policy to avoid guys wearing tank tops, gold chains, and flip flops. Now that I know what a sweet ride some of them drive, maybe I shouldn’t be so judgmental! LOL I always thought they were guys that couldn’t afford a whole shirt or a real pair of shoes. Shows you what I know!!! I have enjoyed reading the posts on this thread the last couple of days. Thanks for some great laughs. I always enjoy a bit of good natured bantering!

Here’s hoping I can get some fish out of the water!
For you midgi…I love fishin the King’s…though especially a bit north of ya. There seems to be some big uns up there. Though I’d take a hoo any day over a King. Fountains are still good boats…No I don’t have the tanning lotion and gold, but they are still a good boat. it’s all whatcha want. I’d much rather ride in a hat, Davis, Jarret Bay or a local built sportfisher from eastern NC. Just me.
Fishoutawater, keep laughing…Isn’t that the point of most of these threads. Also when your at the coast…what guys don’t wear flip flops. It’s almost like a requirement…unless you are fishing, and then maybe.
The fountain is a good boat…though it’s owners sometime aren’t. the ole more money than brains issue
Why does everyday seem to start with WTF
i have laughed so much durring the reading of this post turned black comedy novel that i may have a hard time every watching a comedy show again. the picture of the oiled up back hair caught in the gold chain flapping in the wind just wont leave my mind:stuck_out_tongue:
2-3 and 9 seconds apart, YEAH RIGHT!!!
Good Chris. Then you can help us tonight when we get together to develop our VHF code for the upcomming season.
After years of being honest on the VHF with our friends about the location of the fish (only to have 5 or 6 Fountains come CHARGING over the horizon) we’ve decide to put an end to this.
The “go fast” boat serves them well when VHF trolling. And I strongly believe that “going code” is a direct result of their behavior.
Anyway…meet us tonight at the grillage at 0300. Bring your choice of Imported beer. We’ll have wine and cheese availble and you can order App’s upon arrival. Remember: NO ZIMA ALLOWED!!!
i am kinda in the middle here
i like the lines on some of the king fish boats, but if money were not the object a rybovich or a cabo wins in my book, but im just one of those small cc playing in the big pond.
as far as jumping on somebodys spot i have seen big small charter and private guys do the same thing.
once again
courtesy gentlemen courtesy!

Chris - what is the story with those Cabo’s? I’ve always felt that the advertisments were bordering on playing to the kooks, but the boats are darn pricey. Midgie - sound familiar? I don’t know anyone who has ridden one, so I really don’t know.
Here we go again Mulletlips. Your last post was dead on…if you are within VHF range, a Fountain can be your best friend in less than 20 minutes.
That assumes they are not victim to the “velcro effect”. This rare phenomenon happens when a wooly backed Fountain driver is tossed in the air as he launches off a 6 ft wave with no backside. There have been reports where the driver’s back hair becomes laced into the T-top fabric, thereby suspending the neanderthal until the next wave frees him. In essence, this second wave acts like a “bikini wax”. At this point the driver must go to the sea bag and put on his mohair t-shirt to save face at the rafting party. Fountain Powerboats is experimenting with select hair gels and canvas waxes to lessen the risk of this happening. I know a couple of go-fast apes that simply trim their backs with 2/0 electric razors on Friday night.
Still laughing…
Safe seas and tight lines!

the quality and construction of those boats is unmatched. they actually pay someone to make sure all the screw heads are turned the same way [:0]. they are built like a tank. the person i know that bought one has only had it a short while and it is not here in the states, and have not heard if the boat raises fish. the level of fit and finish of the engine room is higher than the topsides of most boats. as for the rybovich, never been on one, just seen 2 and when you see a 40pluss foot covertible cruise 32 knots in 4 foot it is pretty impressive

You know, I saw a picture of a guy at a NASCAR race with the #3 shaved in his back hair. Do you think he was a Fountain owner? Or do Fountain owners shave the Fountain logo or the name of their boat on their back? Just looking for some help in picking them out of a crowd. I am heading down that way in a week or so and want to keep a sharp eye out. I still think when I am in the upstate I will avoid all men wearing tank tops, gold chains, and shoes with exposed toes!
